Refund & cancellation

Last updated July 3, 2026

This page explains how billing, cancellation, and refunds work for ParityRail’s own subscription plans. It works alongside our terms of service.

This is a product-accurate starting template, not legal advice. It hasn’t been reviewed by a lawyer. Have counsel review it before you rely on it.

Before launch: The exact refund window honored for a given request is a choice the operator makes (in Lemon Squeezy’s dashboard and with counsel) — this page describes the mechanism, not a specific promised window. Governing law and the operating entity are set in the terms of service.

1. How billing works

ParityRail charges a flat monthly subscription per plan — there is no metered or usage-based billing. As of this writing:

  • Free — $0. No charge, no subscription, nothing to cancel.
  • Starter — $39/mo.
  • Pro — $149/mo.
  • Business — custom, contact-only. Priced and contracted directly; no self-serve checkout.

Lemon Squeezy is ParityRail’s Merchant of Record and seller of recordfor every paid plan. Lemon Squeezy is the party that actually processes your payment, calculates and remits applicable VAT, GST, and sales tax, and issues your invoice or receipt. ParityRail provides and operates the software; Lemon Squeezy stands behind the transaction. Your subscription, payment method, and invoices are managed through Lemon Squeezy’s hosted customer portal, reachable from Settings → Billing inside the app.

2. How to cancel

Cancel any time, self-serve, from Settings → Billingin the app — the “Manage billing” button opens Lemon Squeezy’s hosted customer portal, where you can cancel the subscription directly. There is no retention flow or phone call required.

You can also email support@parityrail.com and we’ll point you to the portal or help directly if the portal link is unavailable to you.

3. What happens after you cancel

Cancelling stops future renewals — it does not immediately cut off access. Your plan stays active through the end of the period you’ve already paid for(shown as “Cancelling” with the access-until date in Settings → Billing). Once that period ends, your workspace reverts to the Free plan — scan credits, project count, and repair capability drop to Free-plan limits. Your incidents, audit log, and Access Ledger are not deleted by a downgrade.

4. Refunds

Because Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record, it also handles refund requests for charges it processed. If you believe you were charged in error, or want to request a refund, email support@parityrail.com — we’ll review the request and, where a refund is warranted, coordinate it with Lemon Squeezy. You’re also welcome to contact Lemon Squeezy directly using the receipt or invoice they issued you.

We don’t automatically pro-rate a refund for the unused portion of the current billing period when you cancel — cancelling stops future charges, and you keep access through the period you’ve already paid for (section 3). Refunds outside that norm (billing errors, duplicate charges, and similar) are handled case by case.

5. Failed or declined payments

If a renewal charge fails, Lemon Squeezy retries it and your workspace is marked past due — access continues during this grace window while payment is retried. If the retries are exhausted and payment still fails, the subscription is marked unpaid or expired and your workspace reverts to the Free plan. Update your payment method any time from the billing portal to avoid an interruption.

6. Chargebacks & disputes

Because Lemon Squeezy processes the charge, payment disputes and chargebacks are handled through Lemon Squeezy as the merchant of record. If you have a billing dispute, please contact us first at support@parityrail.com — most issues are faster to resolve directly than through a card-network dispute.

7. Plan changes & upgrades

Upgrading to a paid plan, or from one paid plan to a higher one, is self-serve through Lemon Squeezy’s hosted checkout and takes effect once Lemon Squeezy confirms the subscription — only a confirmed Lemon Squeezy webhook event changes your workspace’s plan, never a client-side action alone. The Business plan is contact-only; reach out and we’ll arrange it directly.

8. Data after cancellation or termination

Downgrading to Free or terminating your account does not delete your workspace outright. Retention and deletion follow the same rules described in our data processing addendum — state snapshots on a rolling 90-day window, incidents and audit records kept for the life of the workspace. To delete your workspace and its data outright, write to legal@parityrail.com.
